Refurbished Muni buses to go on display Friday

Muni officials are set to show off two newly refurbished transit buses that were rehabbed through funding from the federal stimulus package.

The two buses — one a 40-foot standard design, the other an articulated 60-foot model — are the first of 62 vehicles scheduled to be fixed up as part of a $12.6 million allocation that came from the federal stimulus fund.

Muni Executive Director Nathaniel Ford will join other agency officials in unveiling the two vehicles at 11 a.m. Friday at the Woods bus division at 22nd and Indiana streets.
