Red Carpet: Salvation Army has flower power 

‘Flower Power’ luncheon: On Aug. 5 at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel, the Salvation Army held its sixth annual lunch and
floral-design show to benefit both its “Back 2 School” event, which provides underprivileged children with supplies, and after-school
programs in San Francisco. Dominique Pfahl of Floreal L’Atelier created the diverse floral design. ABC 7’s Carolyn Johnson was host.  
Horsin’ around for charity

Menlo Charity Horse Show gala dinner: On Friday in Atherton, equestrians and community leaders celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Menlo Charity Horse Show, a benefit for the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Some 500 horses and riders competed for more than a quarter-million dollars in an event with sponsors such as Tom and Stacey Siebel, the Harvey family, the Heidegger family, Tiffany & Co., Shreve & Co. and Michael Kors.
Symphony patrons strut their stuff

Symphonix gala launch party:  On Friday, some 300 young San Francisco Symphony supporters gathered in the ballroom of the St. Regis Hotel to celebrate the symphony’s opening night festivities Sept. 7. Among those in attendance were gala co-chairs Kristen Harper and Maggie Hazelrig, and launch party chair Ye-Hui Lu.
