Red Carpet: Junior League fashion extravaganza 

Junior League of San Francisco Fashion Show Gala: The 84th annual event, held Friday at the Fairmont Hotel, featured Junior League members and their families modeling designer apparel from Macy’s. Silent auctions and meals also were in the lineup for the benefit, which raises funds for community services dedicated to families in need. Courtney Bocci chaired the event.


Boutique comes to town 

Black Fleece opening: Brooks Brothers last week celebrated its new store on Fillmore Street in San Francisco, the second in the U.S. On hand were Chairman and CEO Claudio del Vecchio and Black Fleece designer Thom Browne. Some 150 guests attended, including Mayor Gavin Newsom and wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom, who was being honored for her film “Miss Representation,” along with Jason Lewis of “Sex in the City” and Aida Mollencamp of “Ask Aida.”


Black & White Ball season begins

Black & White Ball launch: Last week, the San Francisco Symphony hosted a bash to launch the 2010 Black & White Ball. At the party, held at the Bently Reserve, the entertainment lineup of the May 22 ball was announced. Headliners are Tony Bennett, k.d. lang and Kool & The Gang.
