VIPs feel the groove at SFJazz fundraiser

‘Freedom in the Groove’: Music fans celebrated at the 2012 SFJazz Gala on Friday at Bimbo’s 365 Club. The event featured performances by piano legend Ahmad Jamal (who was honored at the event), the SFJazz Collective, the SFJazz High School All Stars and saxophonist Maceo Parker. Proceeds from the benefit will go toward the new SFJazz Center, slated to open in January on Hayes Street, as well as art and education programs.
