A verbal spat between a bicyclist and a Caltrain conductor delayed service by about 10 minutes Tuesday morning, a transit agency spokeswoman said.

Police were called to the San Carlos station around 9 a.m.

The bicyclist was reprimanded for riding on the platform, which is prohibited, and got into it with the conductor, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said. The dispute may have occurred in San Bruno, but cops were called to San Carlos to handle the matter, Dunn said.

No punches were thrown, Dunn said.

It wasn’t the only Caltrain hiccup of the morning. Around 9:04 a.m., an southbound express train failed to make a scheduled stop at the 22nd Street station, blowing right past it. Inconvenienced passengers had to get off at the Millbrae stop and catch a northbound train, Dunn said.
