Rec and Park taking advantage of KFOG partnership

Listen for some Recreation and Park Department advertisements on KFOG radio.

Because even though a $20,000 permit to rent out the Candlestick Park parking lot for is only half the usual price, Rec and Park jumped on the opportunity to host the radio station’s KaBoom concert and fireworks show.

Especially after commissioners saw the potential with in-kind services like 10 monthly public service announcements on KFOG, they were smitten.

Rec and Park Commissioner Meagan Levitan said she’s a Foghead, which made her more eager for the partnership and department General Manager Phil Ginsburg said it came at a time when Rec and Park is in desperate need of marketing resources.

And since KaBoom’s traditional home was falling apart, the organizers didn’t have much of a choice but have been optimistic the whole way through.
