Real-life Grinch: Thieves make off with donated Christmas toys for needy children

WHO: Unknown thieves

WHAT: Someone broke into a storage container this weekend in Burlington, Mass., and stole 1,500 toys collected for the Toys for Tots program by state police, according to the Boston Globe. The toys stolen were all suitable for children age 8 or older, and valued between $15 and $30.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The Toys for Tots donation window ended Friday, and even if new toys are donated, organizers do not have enough time to collect, sort and distribute the toys to the charities that give them to clients. So some children will go without toys this Christmas.

WHAT TO DO:
Those with tips on who did it are being asked to contact Burlington police or Massachusetts State Police.
