Rain, wind to precede a larger storm

Rain and gusty winds are expected to hit the Bay Area this morning as a winter weather system moves in.

Winds of 20 to 25 mph are expected, along with a half-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain, National Weather Service forecaster Diana Henderson said Monday.

The system is expected to remain in the Bay Area until Thursday, with dry weather expected for Friday. More rain is predicted for the weekend, with a larger storm hitting next week, Henderson said.

High temperatures will be in the upper 50s and lows in the mid- to upper 40s throughout the week.
