Rain forecast to return to The City tonight

After a weekend of near-perfect beach weather, Bay Area residents should brace for a turn for the worse: weekday thunderstorms.

Today will be the final day in a reprieve from rainy weather. Temperatures will be in the 60s with partly cloudy skies throughout the day, but that will end by late evening, with a good chance of rain, the National Weather Service said.

“Sometime around midnight, it will start raining,” said Diana Henderson, a meteorologist for the weather service.

Rain is expected to turn into thunderstorms by Tuesday afternoon, with showers continuing through Wednesday and temperatures hovering in the upper 50s, Henderson said.
