Plenty of travel and tough opponents await the Raiders in 2014. The NFL released schedules Wednesday and the Raiders will start their season with three of their first four games in the Eastern time zone or beyond.

Oakland opens the season in New York against the Jets on Sept. 7 before also traveling to New England in Week 3 (Sept. 21) and to London on Sept. 28 to face the Miami Dolphins.

New quarterback Matt Schaub will face his former team the Houston Texans in the Raiders’ home opener Sept. 14.

The Raiders are scheduled for one prime-time game this year, a Thursday night clash on Nov. 20 against the Kansas City Chiefs in Oakland.

Another highlight on the schedule includes a visit from the 49ers on Dec. 7.

The Raiders also face the toughest schedule in the league based on last year’s records, with their opponents having a combined winning percentage of .578.
