Races to watch: Rossi is running in Wash. 

Dino Rossi, R, who ran unsuccesfully for governor of Washington in 2004 and 2008, is already staffing up for the race against Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. With Rossi in, Murray has a real race on her hands. Republicans continue to broaden the playing field for pickups this year. They already have good or excellent opportunities in Arkansas, Delaware, Indiana, Colorado, North Dakota, and Nevada. They also have their sights set on Democratic seats in Illinois, Pennsylvania, California and now Washington.

At the same time, Republicans will face a challenge defending their own seats in Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida.
