Races to watch: Perry leads, but polls only 44 percent in Texas 

The University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll finds Gov. Rick Perry, R, looking awfully weak. He polls at only 44 percent and leads by nine points.

Perry, who won with a 39 percent plurality in a multi-candidate race in 2006, faces a serious challenger this time in Houston Mayor Bill White, D. Republicans also lead in all of the down-ticket races.
