Punctual perp earns a timeout

A San Francisco man reportedly ran afoul of the law while trying to make a court appointment on time — or so he claimed.

Police said they attempted to stop a driver in the Bayview district Friday for committing a traffic violation, but the man continued driving — though he never exceeded the speed limit and even stopped safely at stop signs while trying to shake off police.

After eventually stopping, the man told officers the only reason he did not stop was because he was worried he would be late for a court appearance, police said.

However, police discovered he actually was wanted on a $100,000 warrant related to a burglary offense. He was arrested.
