Proposed sit-lie law up for debate – again

The debate over the proposed sit-lie law resumes on Monday at the Board of Supervisors Public Safety Committee.

The hours of testimony and debate last time even included some colorful back-and-forth between Supervisor Chris Daly and the President of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.

The committee meets Monday at 10 a.m. at City Hall in Room 250.

The proposed law would outlaw sitting or lying on sidewalks throughout The City between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Offenders would be warned first, but repeat violations would result in citations and jail time.
