Proposal for Presidio museum gets thumbs down 

The controversial proposal to build a large art museum on the historic grounds of the Presidio has been given a thumbs down by the San Francisco Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board.

The board sent a six-page letter to The City’s planning director detailing its concerns with the proposal, which would be paid for by and filled with the art of Gap founder Donald Fisher. A hotel and movie complex would also accompany the project.
