President Obama dates guestbook entry May 24th, 2008

President Obama signed the guestbook at Westminster Abbey earlier today but according to a photo of his signature, the date  is May 24th, 2008.

I'm sure everyone reading this remembers a time when they have written the wrong year, while writing a date. But have you ever missed it by a few years?

The botched date was quickly picked up by Twitter users as politicos and reporters spotted the mistake.

Mike Memoli a Washington bureau reporter writes: "What was Obama actually doing on May 24, 2008? Campaigning in Puerto Rico"

ABC's Jake Tapper writes: "A White House official suggested the president’s jet-lag may be the reason why he got the date so wrong." and jokingly adds, "Or maybe this is what was meant by 'leading from behind'?"

NRO's Jim Geraghty adds: Bill Clinton 1992 theme: "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow!" Obama 2012 theme: "Don't Stop Thinking About May 24, 2008!"
