The kids at a New York preschool were thrilled about meeting Queen Elsa from "Frozen," but on Monday they had to settle for a lesser royal: the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

The duchess visited the school while Prince William met with President Barack Obama during the couple's first day visiting America together.

"They thought she was the princess from 'Frozen,'" a school administrator told Us Weekly on Monday.

Middleton, who is expecting a sibling for her son, Prince George, did find a way to make it up to the kids. During a tour of the childhood development center, she was put to work wrapping presents -- including "Frozen" merchandise.

The royal couple finished the evening by watching the Brooklyn Nets take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Barclays Center.

GREEN DAY GUITARIST DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER

Green Day announced over the weekend that guitarist Jason White has been diagnosed with tonsil cancer.

"Thankfully they caught it early and he should make a full and speedy recovery," said a statement on the band's official website. The statement said White's cancer was discovered after a routine tonsillectomy.

White, 41, who has been playing with the multiplatinum band since the 1990s, was named a full-time member in 2012, according to Rolling Stone. The East Bay band -- which released its first extended-play record, "1,000 Hours," in 1990 -- has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2015.
