Prepare for rain at this year's Bay to Breakers

There will be Elvises, centipedes and thousands of other costumed runners in Sunday’s Zazzle Bay to Breakers.

But that is expected in a race entering its 100th year.

What is unexpected is the rain slated to greet runners in the 12-kilometer race.

Showers are forecast for the morning, possibly developing into thunderstorms. Rain is expected to continue into the afternoon. The thunderstorms could produce gusty winds and small hall. High temperatures will be in the low 50s.

The race begins at 7 a.m. at Beale and Howard streets and finishes at the Great Highway.
