SCOUTING REPORT: Amelia Mostovoy (13.7 points per game) and Kelly Wyatt (9.7 ppg, 8.7 rebounds per game) make the Breakers go.

Gateway Gators

THIS SEASON: 7-4

LAST SEASON: 27-3 (lost 51-34 to Branson of Ross in NCS Division V semifinals)

COACH: Steiv Boyd

SCOUTING REPORT: Guard Aisha Esa and the Gators have remained competitive despite losing 72 percent of the scoring from last season’s division champ.

International Jaguars

THIS SEASON: 4-5

COACH: Joe Schaumburg

SCOUTING REPORT: New coach Schaumberg takes over a solid team led by all-purpose forward Julia Hechanova and guard Rachel Beck.

Leadership Griffin

THIS SEASON: 4-11

SCOUTING REPORT: Don’t let the slow start fool you. The Griffin lost their first nine games last season before rebounding with a solid 8-4 league record.

Pescadero Vikings

THIS SEASON: 2-9

SCOUTING REPORT: Two nonconference wins and an overtime loss to Oceana of the PAL North indicate improvement for the Vikings.

San Dominico Panthers

SCOUTING REPORT: 5-foot-11 sophomore Maggie Simpson leads a Panthers team that boasts seven players taller than 5-8.

Waldorf Wolverines

SCOUTING REPORT: Alex Hart (8.0 ppg) has been the Wolverines’ top scoring option.

WEST DIVISION

Convent Cubs

THIS SEASON: 8-2

LAST SEASON: 14-14 (lost 81-47 to Rincon Valley Christian of Santa Rosa in first round of NCS Division V playoffs)

COACH: Rich Hata

SCOUTING REPORT: Natasha Abdulmassih, Scarlett Kirk, Grace Bishop and Cody Luke are all back for a Convent team that finished 9-3 in league play a season ago.

Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons

THIS SEASON: 4-8

LAST SEASON: 9-16

COACH: Mark DiVita

SCOUTING REPORT: Both Jen Ringoen (11.2 ppg) and Vanessa Ho (10.4) are averaging double figures in scoring for the Gryphons.

Drew Dragons

SCOUTING REPORT: Claire Ishiszaki and the Dragons could be a factor after going winless last season.

Lick-Wilmerding Tigers

SCOUTING REPORT: Close games could be common for Misha Hurd and the defense-first Tigers, as Lick allows 39.3 points per game.

Marin Academy Wildcats

SCOUTING REPORT: Six-foot junior forward Alex Bassett returns and is leading the Wilcats in scoring (12.8 ppg) and rebounding (10.5 rpg).

University Red Devils

SCOUTING REPORT: The team that made a Cinderella run all the way to the semifinals of the NCS Division V playoffs must regroup after graduating catalysts Eve King and Piper Tracy.

Urban Blues
