Power restored to most of Castro

Some residents in the Castro may be late for the polls this morning after an early morning power outage that left more than 2,800 without power at its peak.

Power has been restored to all but 89 Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers, spokeswoman Susan Simon said.

The customers left without power are centered at 18th and Castro streets and should regain power by about 11 a.m., according to Simon.

The outage was caused by a downed power line near the intersection of Henry and Noe streets, Simon said.
