Power outage still affecting 83 PG&E customers

Dozens of PG&E customers remain without power this evening after an outage caused by a failed transformer in the city, a utility spokeswoman said.

The outage was reported earlier today, and initially left about 7,100 customers without power. As of 7 p.m., all but 83 customers have had their power restored, PG&E spokeswoman Brandi Ehlers said.

The customers who were affected are in the Western Addition, Eureka Valley and Haight-Ashbury neighborhoods.

The outage was caused by a failed transformer, according to Ehlers. She said power would be restored to the remaining 83 customers by 10 p.m. when the repairs to the transformer are expected to be completed.
