Power now fully restored to Richmond District

The last 20 of the original 4,310 residents left without power after lightning downed lines in San Francisco's Richmond District on Thursday night had power restored this afternoon, according to Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

Lightning struck just before 8 p.m., dropping four power lines onto Geary Boulevard between 43rd and 44th avenues, according to PG&E.

The outage originally affected about 4,310 residents from Fulton Street to Geary Boulevard and anywhere from 12th Avenue to Great Highway, according to PG&E.

All but the last 20 customers had power restored just after 10 a.m., and crews finished repairs and restored power by about 12:45 p.m., spokesman Brian Swanson said.
