Police seeking help finding urn that was stolen in Potrero Hill burglary

Police are seeking the public's help to recover an urn that was stolen from a Potrero Hill residence in February, Officer Albie Esparza said in a statement Wednesday.

On Feb. 25, between 10:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., an unknown suspect entered a residence in the 1700 block of 20th Street and stole several items, including a tear-shaped urn that contained the ashes of the owner's mother, Esparza said.

The urn is red and the owner is reportedly devastated over the theft.

Police released a picture of a similar urn, but not the stolen one.

Anyone with information on the missing urn is encouraged to call police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
