Police seek information on 2007 homicide of Alberto Casillas

Police are seeking the public's help in solving the seven-year-old homicide of Alberto Casillas.

Casillas, 20, was shot while driving his silver GMC Yukon SUV in the area of 13th and Folsom streets on Jan. 7, 2007, about 2:07 a.m., police said. He later died at the hospital.

Casillas had reportedly been involved in a confrontation with the suspects earlier in the night at Club Caliente where the suspects brandished a gun during the encounter.

Casillas and his friend were driving away from the scene when the suspects opened fire and shot multiple rounds into the driver's side of the SUV.

Inspector Michael Morley and Casilla's mother will be on the corner of 13th and Folsom streets Tuesday to answer questions from the media.

Anyone with further information on the homicide is encouraged to call police at (415) 575-4444 or by text at TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
