Police seek group of crooks who robbed three people in the Excelsior on Friday

Police are on the hunt for four to five men in their 20s who terrorized the Excelsior on Friday in a series of armed robberies.

The first robbery occurred about 8:20 p.m. near Moscow Street and France Avenue, police said. Four men approached a 54-year-old man with handguns drawn and demanded the man’s property, police said. The crooks made off with a wallet and smartphone.

About 35 minutes later, the group robbed a 57-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man in separate incidents within minutes of each other in the area of Peru Avenue and Madrid Street, police said.

The woman was robbed of her bag, cash, cellphone, transit card, identification and keys, police said. The man lost his wallet and cellphone.

Police said the robberies are connected, but there was no further information on the suspects as of Monday afternoon.
