Police search for suspect in daytime thefts

The Mountain View Police Department released a sketch Wednesday of a possible suspect in a string of daytime residential burglaries that have taken place since April.

Within the six-month period, there have been 18 reported residential burglaries that have occurred between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. throughout the city.

The suspect gains entry into residences through an unlocked sliding glass door or sliding glass window, according to police. The suspect has taken small video and audio components, laptops, jewelry and/or money.

The suspect is described as a white man, 50 to 60 years old, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with gray hair and a thin build.
