Police investigating Golden Gate Park corpse find

  • A man was found dead in Golden Gate Park on Sunday afternoon.

A man was found dead on John F. Kennedy Drive near 41st Avenue in Golden Gate Park about 5:35 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The death appeared suspicious and is being investigated by the Police Department’s homicide detail, police Officer Carlos Manfredi said. The man’s identity and cause of death have yet to be released.

 

Armed toughs attack, ransack Sunset business

Two people robbed a business in the 1800 block of Taraval Street in the Sunset district about 2 a.m. Monday, police said.

One suspect pushed and punched a male employee, while the other robber punched another man, police said. One crook brandished a knife and raided the business’s cash register, police said.

 

Knife-toting crook favors drive-by purse snatching

A woman was walking home in the 500 block of Funston Street in the Richmond district about 3:50 p.m. Sunday when a man holding a knife exited a red four-door car and snatched her purse, police said.
