Police investigating body found in Marina

Police have shut down Marina Boulevard on Tuesday morning after they found a male body floating in the yacht harbor near Buchanan Street. A person walking on the pier found the unidentified clothed body around 6:30 a.m.

Police say the body may be connected to a long blood trail that was spotted on a nearby street around 10:30 p.m. Monday. The blood trail began in front of a post office on Buchanan Street then streaked across Marina Boulevard and continued toward the water, police spokesman Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.

Cops scoured the area Monday but did not find a body or anyone injured.

Homicide investigators are on the case.

Traffic was diverted around the area while police awaited for the medical examiner to retrieve the body from the water. Police have not revealed the condition of the body.
