Police investigate fatal Mission District shooting 

Police on Tuesday were investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in San Francisco’s Mission District late Monday night, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

The shooting was reported at11:35 p.m. and brought officers to the area of 26th and Mission streets, according to police.

A 58-year-old man saw a man being chased on foot by the suspect, according to the department. The victim tripped and fell to the ground and then was shot several times by the suspect, according to police. The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The man killed in the shooting has not been identified, according to the San Francisco medical examiner’s office. No arrests have been made, police reported.
