Police disciplinary case dates back to 2001

Police commissioners may set a record for the longest pending officer disciplinary hearing tonight by scheduling a case that’s about eight years old.

Details of the incident are sketchy, but by dusting off the archives, you can find that the case involves Officer Mark Stull. The incident apparently occurred in 2001 and the Police Commission case was filed in January, 2002.

The Commission is hoping to schedule its top-10 oldest cases at a meeting Wednesday night after significant pressure about the backlog. The commission ended up with 12 cases.

Besides the 2001 case, there is one case from 2003, one from 2004, two from 2005, six from 2006 and one from 2008.
