Police arrest three in connection with armed robbery at Golden Gate Park

Police have arrested three suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Golden Gate Park in March, Office Grace Gatpandan said Thursday in a statement.

On March 27, police arrested Kristian Brenes, 18, and Keelon Brenes, 23, both of San Francisco, and Devante Jones, 22, of Antioch, for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery at Hagiwara Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park earlier in the day, Gatpandan said.

Just before 3 p.m. that day, police responded to the scene of the tea garden and located the victims, one of which sustained head injuries while struggling with three suspects who took his camera and the other victim's purse. Aid was rendered to the victims at the scene.

The officers' investigation led them to the three suspects listed above, who were near on the 800 block of Ingerson Street about 6 p.m. when they were apprehended, not far from Candlestick Park.

The three men were booked into County Jail on charges of robbery with a gun, robbery with force and aggravated assault with a gun, Gatpandan said.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with further information on the robbery can call (415) 575-4444 or text at TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
