Police say they’ve arrested the predator believed to have sexually assaulted a jogger in Crocker Amazon Park during broad daylight Friday.

Hours after cops released a sketch of the suspected assailant, 18-year-old Xavier Neal was detained and is being held on suspicion of kidnapping and rape, police said.

The 38-year-old woman was jogging at the park — near the basketball court above the soccer field — at about 4:30 p.m. when the suspect forced her into a nearby grassy area and assaulted her.

Police said the woman may have scratched the suspect on the right forearm while defending herself.

The attacker then fled on foot toward Brookdale Avenue heading into the public housing development there, police said.

The suspect in the sketch is a black man in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall, with a thin, athletic build, police said. He has short black hair, brown eyes, an oval face, no facial hair and a medium complexion. He was last seen without a shirt and wearing black shorts and black-and-red “Jordan” sneakers.
