Police announce arrests of three on weapons and drug charges

Police working with the Department of Homeland Security in January arrested three people on numerous weapons and drug charges, Sgt. Monica Macdonald said in a statement Friday.

On Jan. 23, federal and local investigators executed a search warrant in San Francisco that resulted in the seizure of one assault rifle, two assault pistols, six handguns, high-capacity magazines and a large amount of ammunition, Macdonald said. Along with the weapons, several drugs and drug-making materials were seized, including methamphetamine, cocaine salt, base rock cocaine and marijuana.

Two of the suspects arrested are from San Francisco: Gerardo Rodriguez, 25; and Jacques Duhon, 31. The third is 23-year-old Brenda Cardenas of Daly City.

Rodriguez and Cardenas were booked on the following charges: Possession of an assault weapon, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of cocaine for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, Macdonald said.

Duhon was booked on charges of possession of an assault weapon, possession of cocaine and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm.
