Planning Department to hold meeting on Mission Streetscape

Mission District residents will get a chance on Wednesday to offer feedback on a series of proposals to improve streets, sidewalks, and other public access points in the neighborhood.

Led by the San Francisco Planning Department, the Mission Streetscape Plan includes proposals for flexible parking strategies to open up more room for outdoor seating, greening efforts in mixed-use districts, involvement in The City’s “Pavement to Parks” program, and a re-envisioning of residential throughways.

The Planning Department held a series of community meetings on the plan last year, and Wednesday will mark the first gathering of 2010. The community meeting will last from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will take place at the Women’s Building Auditorium on 18th Street.
