Makana has been called the youngest living master of Hawaiian slack key guitar, but he’s also taken the genre one step further by pioneering his own style of contemporary world rock, which he calls "slack rock." A favorite in Hawaii, where he’s been bestowed with multiple music awards, he has opened for the likes of Santana and Sting.

GUGGER PETTER AND ERIC MICHAEL CORRIGAN

New works by Gugger Petter and Eric Michael Corrigan are on view at the Andrea Schwartz Gallery. Petter’s textural "paintings" are made from woven newspaper. Corrigan’s work features floating objects, cages, cubes and cone shapes that are obscured and revealed by gauzy layers of paint.
