PG&E’s Peter Darbee to speak publicly Thursday afternoon

Peter Darbee, Chief Executive of Pacific Gas & Electric Corp., is scheduled to speak in San Francisco on Thursday afternoon.

Darbee is due to speak at the California Public Utilities Commission’s headquarters from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. and the discussion will be broadcast over the Internet.

“Mr. Darbee will share his perspective on climate change and how an energy utility can be successful in the rapidly changing local and global energy markets,” the CPUC said in a press advisory.

PG&E’s media unit was unable to clarify the vague subject of Darbee’s discussion.

“Peter has been asked to speak about his views on climate change and how a utility can respond to the rapidly changing global and local energy markets,” company spokesman Joe Molica said in an e-mail.

The event is planned at the CPUC Auditorium, 505 Van Ness Ave. and the webcast address will be available here.
