PG&E restores SoMa power after five-hour outage

South of Market Pacific Gas & Electric customers are back on line after an outage left more than 1,500 without power Wednesday night, according to PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi.

Just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, an equipment failure and blown fuses at Sixth and Townsend streets knocked out power to 1,575 customers along Townsend from Sixth to First Street and on Fourth from Townsend to Brannan Street.

All but four customers had their power back by 11:01 p.m. Wednesday.
