Person on tracks beneath BART train in SF causes major delay

A person reported to be on the tracks beneath a BART train at San Francisco’s Embarcadero station led to major delays systemwide Sunday evening, a transit agency spokeswoman said.

At 5:43 p.m., BART police received a report that a person was beneath a train at the Embarcadero station, according to BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost.

The person’s condition had not been released by Sunday night, but Trost said the person was moved from the tracks to the platform.

BART trains ran on a single track through Embarcadero station while investigators conducted interviews and investigated the incident, Trost said.

BART riders faced delays of 20 minutes or more immediately following the incident, according to Trost.
