Daly City

Weed entrepreneur: Police stopped a silver 1993 Toyota 4Runner for a traffic violation at the intersection of Martin and Carter streets at 10:53 p.m. March 19. The juvenile driver opened the glove compartment to find the registration and insurance, inadvertently revealing a large amount of marijuana packaged in individual baggies. The suspect allegedly admitted to selling the marijuana and was released to his parents.

Attempted arson: An irate female lit a barbecue grill on the wooden balcony of an apartment on the 800 block of Bedford Street and stated, "I’m gonna burn this house down." She then tipped over the barbecue grill. Police arrested her at 10:26 p.m. March 15 and booked her into County Jail.

Tool thievery: Unknown burglars smashed the driver-side window of a Chevy van parked on the 1-100 block of Pueblo sometime overnight March 15 and stole $3,000 worth of Milwaukee, De Walt and Kline power tools.


Suspicious smoker: Police contacted a man smoking in his parked car on the 1100 block of Murchison Drive at 2:26 p.m. March 19. The suspect denied being a lurker and explained that he was there because his wife wouldn’t let him smoke inside.

Lost and stolen: A Global Positioning System was stolen from a car parked on the 1-100 block of Chadbourne Avenue sometime during the hours immediately prior to 5:20 p.m. March 19.

No sleepovers: Two sisters got into a loud argument at 3:54 a.m. March 18 on the 300 block of La Prenda about one sister’s boyfriend sleeping over at their home. The boyfriend left peacefully before police arrived, and officers advised family counseling.

Coffee kook: A pesky patron purposely spilled coffee on the floor in a coffee shop on the 500 block of Broadwayat 3:46 p.m. March 15. The store manager reported to police that the customer was a regular annoyance and would be barred.

San Mateo

Glass attack: Five or more males fighting and throwing glass at each other on the 200 block of North Bayshore Boulevard scattered and fled before police arrived to break up the fracas at 3:40 a.m. March 18.

Assault by nephew: A man was kicked in the stomach by his wife’s nephew at 7:51 p.m. March 16 on the 600 block of Ocean View Avenue. The victim called police to report that his agitated attacker was still sitting around in the kitchen.

Crutch killer: Irate over a noise complaint, a neighbor walking with a crutch showed up at the complainant’s apartment on the 2700 block of South Norfolk Street at 11:01 p.m. March 15 and threatened to kill her.

Redwood City

Attempted abduction: A woman managed to break away from two men who pushed her down and were attempting to drag her into a park at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Stabbed in fight: A woman was stabbed in the neck during an argument with another female on Hoover Street at 12:16 a.m. March 16. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, while her assailant was arrested and booked into County Jail.

Desperate disposal: A man panicked and threw something on the floor after he saw a deputy sheriff enter a bar on the 3200 block of Middlefield Road in unincorporated Redwood City at 6:44 p.m. March 2. The litter was discovered to be a packet of powder cocaine and its owner was arrested.

Cash out: Two juveniles walked into a Chinese restaurant and stole a cash register sitting on the front counter at 11 a.m. March 2 on the 2900 block of Spring Street in North Fair Oaks. The brazen thieves escaped in a light blue Honda Civic.


Jewel robbery: A jewelry dealer from the East Coast was robbed and assaulted while at a Union 76 gas station on 1200 Bayshore Highway at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was walking to the mini mart when four males approached him and demanded that he "hand over the stuff." They overpowered and cut him and took a "large amount of jewelry" before driving off in an unknown car. The victim had minor injuries.

Wayward truck: Residents reported that a truck ran over a security lamp in front of an apartment complex at the 900 block of El Camino Real at 7:18 p.m. on March 19.

Hitchhiker: A male hitchhiker with a puppy was reported on the onramp of Highway 280 on Trousdale Drive at 9:41 a.m. on Wednesday. He evidently succeeded in catching a ride before the California Highway Patrol arrived.

So. San Francisco

Doughnut Cadillac: Witnesses reported a large gold Cadillac doing douhgnuts in the parking lot of Oyster Point Marina on Harbor Master Road at 11:29 p.m. Tuesday.

El Camino chicken: Police broke up a group of approximately eight juveniles who were running into traffic and playing chicken on El Camino Real and Hickey Boulevard at 12:04 a.m. March 18.
