Burlingame

Lightened luggage: A man dropped off his luggage with a hotel valet on the 1800 block of Bayshore Highway at 1:37 p.m. Oct. 22 and waited one hour before getting it back. When he opened his suitcase, a $1,305 jade pendant was missing.

Daly City

Driving stolen car: Police saw a 2004 black Toyota RAV4 that had been reported stolen at 7 a.m. Oct. 20 from the 200 block of Third Avenue being driven in front of 7331 Mission Street. After being identified he was arrested and booked into Main Jail.

Millbrae

Catalytic crooks: A catalytic converter was stolen from a Toyota 4Runner by sawing off the pipe sometime during the five days prior to Thursday when it was parked on the 1300 block of Murchison Drive.

Copper caper: Six pieces of copper were stolen from the front lawn of a residence on the 200 block of Poplar Avenue on Oct. 24 sometime prior to 4:59 p.m.

Belmont

Attempted burglary: A witness reported that three men in their 20s, dressed in different-colored sweat shirts, pulled up in a white van with black roof rack and were apparently breaking into cars parked on Sequoia Way at 11:28 p.m. Thursday. They drove north toward Belmont Canyon Road before police arrived.

San Carlos

Magazine hawker: A traveling door-to-door solicitor from Missouri was cited on the 1500 block of Elm Street for soliciting without a permit and released at the scene at 7:20 p.m. Oct. 23.

Redwood City

Cheese it: A man in his early 20s driving a 1990 Toyota plowed into an Escalade SUV at 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 21 outside Chuck E. Cheese, 2451 El Camino Real. The two victims reported the driver fled on foot toward the rear of Marshall’s store.
