These are excerpts from Peninsula police departments’ daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by city.

Burlingame

Mud bath: A high-pressure hose was directed at a building and sprayed muddy water into the reading room of the building on the 200 block of Primrose Road before 7:48 p.m. May 18.

San Bruno

Slow ride: A man slowly drove by a house and threatened to kill someone and damage the person’s mother’s car on the first block of Pacifica Avenue before 7:30 p.m. May 20.

San Mateo

Disgruntled: An office employee reported at 2:09 p.m. May 19 from Crystal Springs Road that a fired employee was yelling in the office and refusing to leave.

Foster City

Not a toy: At 4:24 p.m. May 20 on Menhaden Court, a caller reported that four youths were examining a "big gun" while standing next to a small red vehicle. The gun was described as a rifle with a scope. The youths were in possession of an Airsoft rifle.

Redwood City

Bike hit: A silver Astro van and bicycle collision with major injuries occurred at 9:41 a.m. May 19 at Twin Dolphin and Lagoon drives.

South City

Curiosity got him: A reporting party called at 6:26 p.m. May 21 from Gateway Boulevard that a black cat was crying with its head stuck in a box that said "do not touch." The box also had a skull and crossbones on it. The caller wouldn’t help the cat because of what was written on the box.

Daly City

Bogus claim: A resident called at  11:32 a.m. May 18 from Fairway Drive to report a subject approached her and identified himself as a contractor who would be building a new fence for the Lake Merced Golf Course, which borders her property line. The resident contacted the golf course and they have no plan for the project.
