Millbrae

Fire in the hole: A battery left in a car trunk caused the trunk to catch fire, damaging a laptop and other items on the 1100 block of Millbrae Avenue before 4:31 p.m. on May 21.

Burlingame

Ammo from Fido: A man said his neighbor threw dog feces over his fence and was yelling and screaming at him on the 1300 block of Drake Avenue before 2:01 p.m. on May 18.

Lost key: Someone’s son locked himself in handcuffs and needed police to unlock them on the 1100 block of Trousdale Drive before 7:32 p.m. on May 19.

San Bruno

Obstacle course: Two cans of paint and a rolled up carpet were lying in the left turn lane of the 500 block of El Camino Real before 8:48 a.m. on May 20.

San Mateo

Rental stolen: A caller reported at 3:48 p.m. May 20 from the 500 block of East Third Avenue that the rented vehicle he left at Jack in the Box was missing.

Foster City

Burglary’s detritus: An auto burglary was reported at 9 a.m. May 21 on Flying Fish Street when a resident found a suitcase and purse in the street and deduced that the items were from an auto burglary made by a smashed window. The vehicle was in the 100 block of Albacore Lane and a note was left on the car for owner of the purse. An officer contacted the owner of the suitcase that was found on Flying Fish at 9:31 a.m.

Redwood City

Hit and run: Officers responded to a hit and run with injuries at 6:34 p.m. May 19 at El Camino Real and Maple Street.

South City

Genentech fire: The security at Genentech reported a machine in one of the buildings was on fire at 1:25 a.m. May 21 on Forbes Boulevard.
