These are excerpts from Peninsula police departments’ daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by city.


Smoke detector: A manager of a motel at Shoreway Road reported at 12:08 p.m. Feb. 28 that she refused to rent a room again to a subject who she had caught smoking marijuana in a nonsmoking room. The subject was in the lobby and uncooperative.

South City

Dude, there’s my car: A red Honda Civic was recovered by the caller who had reported it stolen out of Daly City at 12:08 p.m. March 2 at 3000 block Callan Boulevard.

Redwood City

A safe place: A manager called at 11:05 p.m. Feb. 28 from Safeway on Woodside Road regarding an employee who was receiving threats from an ex-boyfriend. The man wanted to confront the employee at the end of her work shift at 11:15 p.m. He is in his late 40s driving a "beat up" Honda. The man was from Mountain View. The employee was hiding in the vault area.

Daly City

Left holding the box: A box of bricks was packaged as a laptop and sold to an unsuspected person who then reported the incident to police. The party called reporting theft by false pretenses after an exchange of $240 in cash to two suspects at 12:05 p.m. March 3 in the unit block of Flournoy Ave. The two suspects fled the area in a vehicle in an unknown direction.


All wrapped up: A man found black electrical tape affixed around and underneath his car on the 1400 block of Capuchino Avenue before 8:56 p.m. on March 5.

San Bruno

Targeted?: A woman lost her baby stroller and purse inside a Target store on the 1100 block of El Camino Real before 10 p.m. on March 4.
