These are excerpts from Peninsula police departments’ daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by city.

Foster City

No vacancy: Someone called the police at 12:23 p.m. March 7 from the Crowne Plaza on Chess Drive to report a woman who appeared to be wearing nothing but a long T-shirt. Police made contact with the woman on Foster City Boulevard and Triton Drive, and she was fully dressed.

Burlingame

Lottery winner? A woman received a call from someone saying she won money and he would give it to her at 2:30 p.m. on March 10 on the 1500 block of Floribunda Avenue.

Not the bathroom: A homeless person defecated on a person’s porch on the 1200 block of Donnelly Avenue before 9:08 a.m. on March 10.

San Bruno

Kaboom: Someone heard a loud explosion-type noise and then a car screeching off on the 600 block of Green Avenue before 3:50 a.m. on March 9.

Casting stones: People were throwing large rocks at a house on the 500 block of Hazel Avenue at 7:46 p.m. on March 10.

Menlo Park

Smash and grab: A burglary was reported at 1:32 p.m. March 11 in the 100 block of San Hill Circle when a vehicle’s wing window was smashed and a purse was taken.

South City

Lights are off, someone’s home: A fire assist occurred at 7:41 p.m. March 7 at Fairway Apartments on Westborough Boulevard with a fire in an apartment. The lights were out and an unknown person had a candle with fire inside the hallway.

Redwood City

Hanging out: A caller was concerned that four youths were hanging out in an area where it is common for gang members to congregate. A caller reported at 11:11 a.m. March 10 from the 100 block of Vera Avenue, saying they were concerned because the kids should be in school. The four could not be located by the police.
