These are excerpts from Peninsula police departments' daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by city.


Rocketeers: Two 10- to 11-year-old children were setting off bottle rockets in a city parking lot on the 100 block of Lorton Avenue at 9:19 p.m. on March 25.

San Bruno

Canned: Five bags of aluminum cans were stolen from a backyard on the 800 block of Fourth Avenue before 2:38 p.m. on March 25.

San Mateo

Car alarm: A call at 11:13 p.m. March 20 from 2300 Ensenada Way reported that a neighbor’s vehicle was on fire in the middle of the street.

South City

Target practice?: Public works received a call about youths shooting guns above a sign on Sign Hill at 12:28 p.m. March 24.

Foster City

Red card: A caller reported at 12:49 p.m. March 25 from Sea Cloud Park on Sea Cloud Drive that 12 people were playing soccer without a permit. The process of obtaining a permit and insurance was explained to the players. They departed without incident.


Under fire: Vandalism was reported at 9:28 a.m. March 26 on Clipper Drive when windows of the building were hit with rocks and pellets.

Menlo Park

Keep your clothes on: A caller reported at 6:12 p.m. March 24 at Sharon Park Drive and Sharon Road that a subject walked toward her and unzipped his pants.

Redwood City

Outta here: A caller at 10:15 a.m. March 24 requested that her son be evaluated after he left on foot after a family disturbance. The 28-year-old was described as manic.


Close shave: At 7:18 p.m. March 26 in the 1200 block of Lake Street, a Honda was entered, possibly by a shaved key.

Daly City

Pressed for information: A caller reported at 9:55 a.m. March 20 from 600 block of Gellert Boulevard having been contacted between 7 p.m. March 19 and 9 a.m. March 20 by unknown suspects posing as a security company, "Falcon External Security," for Washington Mutual to get his personal information. Washington Mutual confirmed that the alleged company does not do contract work for them.
