Pelosi can always look to her music career

It’s going to be hard to stay at the top of the pack for long, but since outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is headed into the minority, she can at least rely on Obamacare to carry her through the hard times, and perhaps even subsidize her budding music career. Hey, she said that this was a feature of Obamacare back in May:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said this week that thanks to the new health-care reform law, musicians and other creative types could quit their jobs and focus on developing their talents because taxpayers would fund their health care coverage.

“We see it as an entrepreneurial bill,” Pelosi said, “a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care.”

It’s true: Americans did pursue their passions thanks to Obamacare, by electing a Republican majority in the House and demoting Pelosi, giving her more free time to brush up on her music. No word yet on how receptive her staff has been to her kazoo lessons.
