Paul Walker’s mom says she will back off her demand to become guardian of Walker’s 15-year-old daughter, but on the condition that Meadow’s mother goes to rehab, according to TMZ.

Cheryl Walker went to court in Los Angeles last week apparently preparing to fight with Rebecca Soteros, who reportedly has a serious drinking problem, with two DUIs on her record, TMZ reported. Soteros’ drinking problem led Meadow to move from Hawaii three years ago to live with her dad in L.A. Walker’s will stipulated that his mother become the guardian of his daughter.

Soteros has told Cheryl Walker she would go to rehab immediately, and Walker then promised she would drop her bid for guardianship if Soteros successfully completed the program and agreed to drug testing afterward, TMZ reported.

Soteros reportedly started a detox program Friday, and will enter full-time rehab in a week.

In the meantime, Meadow is staying with the Paul Walker’s mom.
