Paul Walker’s mother is giving up her bid for custody of her granddaughter.

Cheryl Ann Walker, 60, had sought to be named guardian over her late son’s $25 million estate and his daughter, 15-year-old Meadow Rain, but has abandoned that request, according to court papers obtained by People magazine.

Her attorney, Bela G. Lugosi, previously told reporters that the family, including Meadow’s biological mother, Rebecca Soteros, wanted to resolve the matter out of court.

Cheryl’s papers seeking guardianship, which were filed in March, claimed that “parental custody would be detrimental to the minor” because of an alleged drinking problem. A source told People in March that Soteros agreed to go to rehab in order to regain custody of her daughter.

The late “Fast & Furious” actor’s family had been embroiled in a custody dispute since he died in a car crash Nov. 30.
