Paul Simon adding Fillmore show to Bay Area concert schedule

Calling all Paul Simon boosters! Attention!

So you’re sitting around the Bay Area, totally bummed because you couldn’t snag a ticket to his two now-sold-out shows in April?

Get ready to cheer.

Following his concerts on the 25th at Davies Symphony Hall and Oakland’s Fox Theater on the 26th, he’s now added (as he’s doing in most major cities on this run) a more intimate club date, April 27 at the Fillmore.

Why the last-minute addition?

According to Simon, he not only wants to perform material from his first album in five years, the upcoming “So Beautiful Or So What” on Hear Music/Concord (and you can hear two of its tracks at, he also wants to explore deep catalog and play songs he’s rarely, if ever, done before in concert.

This might include covers, the odd Simon and Garfunkel tune, and maybe even an unplugged acoustic set — ahem — late in the evening.

Are you happy yet?
