Comedian Patton Oswalt is one of the funniest people to follow on Twitter, but after the Boston Marathon bombings he posted on Facebook something remarkably poignant.

“I remember when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, ‘Well, I’ve had it with humanity,’” he began. But then he seemed to channel Mister Rogers’ famous quote, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”

“You watch the video of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out,” wrote Oswalt. “So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, ‘The good outnumber you, and we always will.’”
